School Mission
The School aims to engage, enlighten and empower learners to achieve their personal and academic potential, tolerance, responsibility, and self-confidence within society and in a global context. Its mission is to provide quality teaching to the children of eligible hospital staff and to provide a learning environment which enables each child to develop as an educated, valuable member of society who respects others and the surrounding cultural diversity.

The School License

The School is licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Education as a British international school and, as such, is subject to periodic inspections, from which positive feed-back has always been forthcoming.

NAAFH  International School

UK National Curriculum

Welcome to the Web pages of Northern Area Forces Hospital International School, serving the expatriate families of King Khalid Military Hospital at Hafr Al Batin. These pages are intended to give you an overview of the School, its mission, facilities, resources, programme and activities, staff and students. I hope the information and photographs will give you a feeling for the type of school we are: a close-knit staff and student body committed to the pursuit of high standards and to the joy of learning.

The School delivers the British National Curriculum programme of studies and the students take the Optional and Compulsory Standard Achievement Tests (SAT’s) towards the end of the academic year.

Arabic Language is taught as a first language to Arab students and as a modern foreign language to non-Arabs. Islamic Studies is part of the school curriculum for Muslim students.

NAAFH  International School was purpose built in 1995 and offers modern and extensive facilities for the children of King Khalid Military Compound Hospital expatriate employees. It is situated in its own campus within the military compound. There is a crèche for babies and toddlers and a nursery for 3-4 year olds. Formal schooling starts in Reception and continues through to Year Eight (about 13 years of age).

The Student Body

The students represent a wide cross-section of cultures and nationalities, reflecting the international nature of the hospital itself, which recruits medical staff from all over the World.

The Staff

The School Principal and his deputy, the Assistant Manager, academic management team and teachers are all suitably qualified and experienced English first-language professionals. Arabic language and Islamic Studies are taught by well-qualified Arabic teachers.
