This is a large
Maternity Unit with almost 3000 deliveries p.a. It is a modern
well-equipped unit with state of the art US equipment, and fetal
monitors.The C.S rate is about 15%, and the proportion of high-risk
patients is 25%. There is the Chief of department, five consultants,
and seven residents / registrars. There is full back-up facilities
available round the clock. The gynae side is equally busy, with
almost 350 operations p.a covering the full range of gynae surgery,
including endoscopic surgery.The department has recently been
accredited for residency training.
The
Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology is a busy service that has
dedicated inpatient, outpatient and delivery facilities. A
new L&D Suite was commissioned earlier this year and complements the
Postnatal, Antenatal, Female Medical and Female Surgical Wards
available to the department.

The Ob/Gyn
Department is supported by a full range of services and modern equipment
including colour Doppler ultrasound, portable equipment and dedicated
departmental facilities that provide patients with the utmost privacy and
comfort.
Medical
Staff have access to a full range of up-to-date Journals and internet access
to Medline and other resources. |
